AYFN Autumn Japan Culture Camp 2026

Quick intro

Applications are open for the AYFN Autumn Japan Culture Camp 2026. The programme will take place in Japan from 15 to 20 November 2026, beginning in Osaka and including cultural exposure in Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara. It is a short-term cultural immersion programme for youth interested in Japanese culture, travel, global friendship, and cross-cultural learning. English is the primary programme language, and prior Japanese language knowledge is not required. (AYFN Academy)

Benefits

AYFN offers two scholarship tiers:

Gold Scholarship

• Programme fee waiver worth up to USD 1,000
• Flight expense support up to USD 750
• Visa processing fee support up to USD 50

Silver Scholarship

• Programme fee waiver worth up to USD 1,000
• Flight expense support up to USD 250

The scholarship also covers:

• 6 days and 5 nights accommodation in double/triple shared room
• Breakfast 4 times
• Lunch 4 times
• Cultural and educational activities in the itinerary
• Scheduled sightseeing and cultural activities
• Local transportation by metro and bus
• E-certificate of participation
• Full programme guidance and support
• In-country coordination and administrative fees (AYFN Academy)

The scholarship does not cover visa application fee, additional airfare expense, travel insurance, internet, laundry, extra meals, or personal costs not listed in the coverage. (AYFN Academy)

Objectives

The programme aims to help young participants experience Japanese culture directly, build global friendships, improve cultural awareness, and gain exposure to Japanese traditions and local life through experiential learning. Eligibility criteria

Applicants must:

• Be from any nationality
• Be 17–40 years old
• Have interest in travel and culture
• Demonstrate leadership potential
• Be able to communicate in English
• Be physically and mentally healthy

Required documents

Applicants must prepare:

• CV / résumé in Europass standard
• 250-word motivation letter on why they need and deserve the scholarship
• 250-word essay on “Why is travel important for the young generation?”
• E-book payment receipt for *Empower Horizons*
